These are the results of the recent poll conducted:
The total number of people that have participated: 18
No. of votes uncounted (because they indicated anything): 2
No. of votes for Option 1 (Aloha Changi): 1
No. of votes for Option 2 (Costa Sands on 6,7,8 Jan): 3
No. of votes for Option 3 (Costa Sands on 4,5,6, Jan): 12
Therefore the winner of this year's general election 2007 is Option 3.

Estimated cost for 3 days 2 nights chalet will be about 5 DOLLARS AND THIRTY CENTS(instead of 15 dollars) per person; assuming 17 people stay for the entire duration of the chalet with Sheng Jie's generous subsidy.
Booking of the chalet will commence soon, In the mean time, anyone got credit card to lend?
Pls contact me because I need it to book the chalet.

Note: JC1s are gladly welcomed for the chalet as well (either for the bbq or if best the chalet as well!) Please contact me at cross_revolution59@hotmail.com ASAP.

Your sincerely,
Jun Jie

hey! After yesterday's discussion over dinner, we've decided to opt for a more comfortable option - the chalet. The duration of the chalet has been decided as a 3 days, 2 nights. oh, and Sheng Jie has kindly sponsored $200 for the chalet rental fees! (:

However, we still need to choose the dates to hold our chalet.
These are the available options to choose from! (:
Please sms me your options by this Saturday evening, 15th December:

  • Option 1: Aloha Changi- from 6th- 8th Jan, Sunday to Tuesday.
  • There are however no available slots for aloha chalets from 4th-6th Jan, Friday to Sunday. sorry...
  • Option 2: Costa Sands Pasir Ris, from 6th-8th Jan. (2 floors!)
  • Option 3: Costa Sands Pasir Ris, from 4th-6th Jan.
hmm, i personally feel that 4th-6th January should be a better choice as it will be from Friday to Sunday. This allows the working people to join us after their 9 to 5 job.. :)

oh! and do consider that Aloha's chalets are bigger than Costa sands but Aloha lacks amenities. However, Aloha chalets are hot stuff so they're booked more quickly. We may not be able to book Aloha in time. yep! (:

do sms soon! cuz Aloha's hot stuff.. thanks!
here's wishing everybody, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

「 sunset on 8:24 PM 」

hey everyone this is Jun Jie. I have received some feedback about the dates to hold the camp. So I have decided to have one final poll to decide the date the camp is set.
The location I would put it as Pasir Ris. The dates are as follows:

  • 12 to 13th December (Amanda Lim and Jensen Neo will be unable to attend)
  • 19,20,21 December (Jia Wei, Jensen Neo and Nik will be unable to attend)
  • 31st to 1st January (Everyone is free!)

Hence everyone, please email to me your choices by 15 Dec latest or best ASAP.

「 sunset on 9:52 PM 」

A total of 13 people have particpated in the poll.
The results are as follows:

Choice 1: Overnight camp at ubin. Two beaches are available.
Number of Votes:2

Choice 2: Overnight camp at east coast with bbq. Booking will be needed for a bbq pit
Number of Votes: 5

Choice 3: Overnight camp at pasir ris park with bbq. Booking will be needed for a bbq pit
Number of Votes: 3

Choice 4: A chalet (dec are fully booked)
Number of Votes: 3

Hence, the winner of this year's general election is Activity Two. Congrats.

Now on to the second part the dates which everyone is available.
This year some ODACians are rich as many of them are going on holidays. lol
The dates which are available for the month of december are:
  • 12 to 13th December (Amanda Lim and Jensen Neo will be unable to attend)
  • 19,20,21 December (Jia Wei, Jensen Neo and Nik will be unable to attend)
  • 31st to 1st January (Everyone is free!)

However, please keep in mind that the results are not entirely representative of the entire ODAC as only 13 people took part in the poll. I would strongly recommend 31st to 1st January. However, it might be crowded. Pasir Ris might be a better location than East Coast as it is less crowded and there is also Downtown East nearby and kayaks are readily available from water venture. Amenties are not as bad as East Coast.

The following people have replied to the email. I will only be stating down which venue they have chosen. Some of them did not rank which choices they preferred most but only stated what choice they wanted. Hence, I only wrote down the first choice they wanted. The dates which they are not free will be posted in a separate document. (soon)

Lester Low- Chalet
Funan Tan- Camping/BBQ at east coast
Jenson Neo- Chalet
Nik Chia- Camping at Ubin

I have yet to receive reply from the rest of the ODAC members. I hope you guys can help me out by urging them to reply to this email by the date stipulated in the earlier blog post.
Thank you for your kind attention.

Yours sincerely,
Jun Jie

「 sunset on 5:47 PM 」

Hi all,

I have deleted the previous post as it is quite...
I know he is trying to help and i appreciate that but not in such a tone especially in a public space like this.
let me try to make things a little clearer.
we will be organising some odac gathering.
I know it is impossible to find a date where every single one can make it as you all have your holiday plans.
So we will try to fixed a date that can accommodate as many of us and also a date where the chalet is available.

Firstly, jj wants to know the dates that each of us are not free.
Secondly, jj wants to know the type of odac gathering whether it is a chalet or a mini outdoor camp.

So here are the suggestions proposed by some of us:

Choice 1: Overnight camp at ubin. Two beaches are available.
Possible activities: Cycling, campfire, night walk.
Pros: This is a more outdoor adventurous venue.
Not as crowded as pasir ris or east coast.
Cons: We have to carry water and food from main land.

Choice 2: Overnight camp at east coast with bbq. booking will be needed for a bbq pit
Possible activities: Ski 360, kayaking, cycling, soccer, kite flying, freebie, etc
Pros: Main land, safer.
We can buy food and water easily.
Cons: Crowded.

Choice 3: Overnight camp at pasir ris park with bbq. booking will be needed for a bbq pit
Possible activities: Kayaking, cycling, soccer, kite flying, freebie, etc
Pros: Main land safer.
Cons: Crowded.

Choice 4: A chalet (dec are fully booked)
(the earliest date as checked out by jj is at Aloha Changi 7-9 Jan)

Possible activities:
cycling, etc depends on location.
Pros: We do not need to worry about bad whether.
Cons: Expensive... about $80 (final cost depends on location).

So here are the steps to help jj consolidate the date and the venue for his planning.
1) Email to him at
cross_revolution59@hotmail.com with the subject heading 'ODAC outing 07 -name-'
2) Write down the dates and time that you are busy first.
3) Rank the choice number (1,2,3 or 4) or your very own suggestion.

(Please try not to put down anything as a choice)
Please do this by 5th Dec.

Example:
Subject- ODAC outing 07 Dwayne
Days not free:
Every Monday 12:59am to 1:00am

Choice:
2
1
3
4

Thank you... I hope this clears things up... please try not get offended by the previous post...
and i hope it will be an enjoyable one.

dwayne
